My hiring strategy at the ripe old age of 25 was to hire people younger than me.

It worked for a while… you could even say I was lucky.

However, my luck ran out when a “referred new hire” made my life totally miserable.

I hired this guy through a personal connection; he was the brother of a friend.

Pretty soon, I dreaded going into the office.

The literal offices of the business I owned.

I woke up one Monday morning and thought about calling in “fake-sick” to my own company.

The thought of working with this guy for another week just made me want to pull the covers over my head.

He created tension, didn’t play well with the team, and was never limber.

And I’m paying him?!?

The know-it-all recent college grad with a shiny degree had ME reconsidering my entrepreneurship!

Around this time, I figured out that keeping the wrong person in my organization was mentally exhausting me AND my team, and financially irresponsible to boot.

That’s when I knew I had to become serious about my hiring, because I never wanted to make this mistake again.

I went ALL IN on studying and researching how to assess talent, and how to attract and hire, not only the right people, but the best people.

I realized I had to become OBJECTIVE.   

Because the REAL PROBLEM was the lack of an OBJECTIVE HIRING PROCESS that could effortlessly be used for every hire.
